Support & coverage
For help or privacy enquiries, email support@gamadynamics.com.au. Include your macOS version, TimeScope version and a description of the issue. Please do not send passcodes, private page titles or children’s usage records.
Availability
TimeScope is free to use. It is currently a development build for macOS 14 or later. An App Store release is intended, subject to signing, validation and Apple’s review. This website does not distribute the ad-hoc test build.
First use
- Open TimeScope and choose Start recording. Not now leaves recording stopped.
- Click the chart symbol in the menu bar to open Summary & Timeline.
- In Settings → Permissions & Coverage, optionally Enable Chrome or Safari and respond to the normal macOS Automation dialog.
- Leave page titles and YouTube identifiers off unless you want those additional details.
Approval is per application bundle and browser. Approval for the development browser-test app does not automatically approve TimeScope. If denied, review Privacy & Security → Automation in System Settings. No security bypass is needed or recommended.
Current browser coverage
| Browser | App tracking | Website details |
|---|---|---|
| Chrome | Generic foreground tracking | Sandbox metadata verified; opt-in Automation |
| Safari | Generic foreground tracking | Sandbox metadata verified; opt-in Automation |
| Opera, Edge, Brave | Generic foreground tracking | Untested; adapter disabled |
| Firefox | Generic foreground tracking | No implemented native adapter |
| Other browsers | Generic foreground tracking | No implemented adapter |
Verification was on macOS 27, Chrome and Safari installed on the development Mac. It is not a promise of every browser version, App Store approval or a complete real-world timing audit. Safari returned a “Failed to open page” title during testing; successful page loading was not established.
Private browsing and sensitive details
Chrome’s native private-window flag is checked. Safari has no verified private-window indicator: pause Safari website details before private browsing. Generic application time can continue. Opt-in page titles are limited to YouTube, Wikipedia, Apple developer documentation and example domains. Other sites remain domain-only. Titles can still contain personal information. Website origins replace arbitrary URL paths and queries; only allowlisted YouTube video IDs are an optional exception.
Transparent family use
Explain recording to everyone using the account. Guardian Mode protects visible settings, history deletion and optionally normal quitting. It does not enforce access to the computer, identify the individual using a shared account or prevent Force Quit. There is no remote dashboard or online passcode reset.
Manage your records
Inspect daily sessions in Timeline and checkpoints in Activity Journal. Settings controls retention and deletion. Disabling browser details preserves past records. Local storage uses macOS account protection and can be included in your own backups. Read the full privacy policy.
Accuracy boundaries
Idle, observed system inactivity and monitoring gaps are excluded from active totals. Dedicated lock/unlock behavior, signed login-item behavior, physical lifecycle tests and production permission-denial/revocation tests need further validation. An interrupted run is reported from the last committed checkpoint with cause Unknown. An open app or website never proves watching or reading.
